Spheres
Deep blues, purples and yellows shimmered within frozen liquid spheres of glass. Milky clouds of white and spots of red played incandescently within the swirl of colours.
A sound that traced the marbles path across the dark platform reverberated with a soft draw. Only microscopic discrepancies in the friction of the smooth surface, and perhaps the movement of air from the onlooker's breath, prevented their directions from being totally random.
The Man In White regarded the pattern for a moment; as if memorizing an important piece of information, before drawing the marbles towards him once again. It was the Man In Black's turn, and the opposition gently rolled his set of eleven marbles onto the table. The result was also ambiguous.
"Ysdriel" The Man in Black addressed his rival.
"Haliel." The Man in White replied.
The two men bowed their heads imperceptibly towards one another.
"Neutral!" Announced the Overseer from a high throne. "Proceed to Game Two!"
